Hola.......
Picture yourself with six like-minded jewelry fanatics traveling to the South of Spain! Does life get any better? This trip has been in the making for many, many months and I can't believe it's almost time to start packing our bags.
On October 15 we depart the US for eight nights in Madrid, Seville, Toledo, and Malaga. This custom-designed trip is a dream come true for me and five of my students. We plan to have a total jewelry experience, visiting museums, observing artists at work in their studios, exploring marketplaces and bazaars, and sampling all the cultural decadence of this rich and colorful area. We've even planned a one-day trip to Morocco! We'll be looking for inspiration, texture, techniques, and exploring the history and influence of adornment as it relates to art and social culture. We're sure to come back just buzzing with new ideas and sketch books full of designs.
I'll keep a travelogue of our adventures and keep you updated. I hope that this will be the first of many jewelry tours yet to come.
Saludo.....Linda

Next Stop........Maryland
In September I'm heading back to Frederick, Maryland, and looking forward to seeing lots of old PMC friends and making many new ones.
Here's a list of classes:
Level I Certification, September 6-7, 2008.
Dichroic Glass for PMC - Friday, September 12, 2008
PMC Techniques Weekend - September 13-14, 2008
Level 3 Certification - September 20-21, 2008
These classes are held at my sister's home on beautiful Braddock Mountain. It's very spacious, well lit, and Julia is the perfect hostess and teaching assistant. I'm very spoiled.
If you've never been to Frederick, this is a cute little community, nestled in the mountains, with lots of historic charm and plenty of opportunities to search out antiques, galleries, and great restaurants. Frederick is only 60 minutes from Baltimore or Washington, making it very accessible and affordable for weekend getaways. Bring the family and they can enjoy many interesting historic haunts or hiking the Appalachian Trail while you indulge your PMC habit.
The weekend workshop, Sept. 13-14, is going to be filled with lots of fun and fabulous techniques. You'll learn water etching and slip trailing, how to solder earring backs, the photo polymer plate process for creating your own original textures, special patina and coloration techniques, and anything else we can possibly cram into a two day workshop! This class is open to any interested metal clay artist.
Dichroic glass cabochons will cover the fundamentals of glass fusing for creating one-of-a-kind glass cabs suitable for use with PMC. You'll make approximately 4 glass cabs in this half-day class.
Level 3 is the newest PMC Connection certification open to those who have completed Level 2. This class goes to new extremes! Learn to create a hinged box and take your gemstones setting skills to a whole new level using jewelers investment.
Level I is essential for those artists who are just beginning their artistic journey with PMC. Level I helps you develop good work habits, and saves you money. Education is the best investment you can make in your artistic journey with PMC. You'll avoid costly errors and become eligible for discount purchases. Learn when and how to use each of the various types of PMC - clay, paste, syringe - while creating five beautiful jewelry designs.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Looking forward to seeing you in Maryland!
Linda
